CHINT Global Regional Applications Marketing Manager, Paul Lee, introducing the Sunlight Electrical Series Forti Compact Switchgear to Dr. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainaability and the Enrivonment during the opening of SP-CHINT Smart Electrical Power Training Laboratory during the Regional Industrial Network Conference (RINC)

As part of our continuous effort to nurture the talent pipeline for the energy and power sector as Singapore moves to meet its growing clean energy needs, we were pleased to have Dr. Amy Khor, Singapore's Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, to grace the opening of the SP-CHINT Smart Electrical Power Training Lab at Singapore Polytechnic's (SP) Regional Industry Networking Conference (RINC) 2022.

A tour to the Training Lab was also organized for SMS Dr. Amy Khor and the RINC entourage for a first-hand experience of the full range of CHINT low-voltage components and the “live” smart switchboard from Sunlight commonly used in the renewable sector. During the tour, Paul Lee, Regional Applications Marketing Manager from CHINT Global, introduced the smart features of the Sunlight switchboard not typically found in traditional panels, such as a Smart Human Machine Interface for condition monitoring, smart temperature sensors for 24/7 fault and wear monitoring, and a smart meter for improving electrical efficiency by identifying electricity usage at each circuit.

All these latest industry practices allow a better understanding of the electrical equipment, increases safety, reduces waste, and allow students to familiarize themselves and be equipped to use them as they enter Singapore’s digitalized workforce.

The Training Lab, part of our various initiatives under the MoU with Singapore Polytechnic, will enable current and relevant industry training for students, lifelong learners, and SP staff alike.

RINC has been organized by the SP School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) since 2002, with the objective to create a platform for regional and local participants to share and discuss the latest industry developments as well as trends and innovations in the field of engineering.

A CHINT booth was also set up at RINC to offer internship opportunities and for students to hear from the current intern at Sunlight himself on his internship experience.
