At the turn of the spring and summer when the global epidemic is raging, CHINT West Asia and Africa team went against the current crisis and challenges. By cooperating with the local EPC partner AMIMER ENERGIE, we successfully won 2 PV stations with total capacity of 12MW from the Algerian Electric Power Bureau. We will provide PV modules, inverters, combiner boxes which total amount exceeds millions of dollars. This achievement has not only marked a brand-new breakthrough for CHINT in the field of new energy in North Africa but also indicated the first landing of CHINT's PV project in Algeria. Besides, it turned on the strategic cooperation between CHINT and AMIMER in new energy in Algeria.
In the context of the transformation of the global energy structure, the demand for PV products in various countries has witnessed stable increases, which makes the PV industry becoming the key cooperation area of the Belt and Road initiative. Huge market demand and the advantages of new energy have contributed to the consistent progress in the development of power in North Africa. The Algerian government has been committed to the energy upgrading and planned to deploy 4GW of solar power generation capacity by 2024. The 12MW PV project is also the first shot of the country's ambitions.
As the pioneer of the Belt and Road initiative, CHINT has been actively involved in the Algerian market for more than ten years. The West Asia and Africa team integrated a deep understanding of the new energy industry, excellent products, perfect solutions, and high-quality services, and successfully stood out from many other competitors. We won the recognition of EPC partners and power bureaus. The contract will eventually be implemented even under the interference of the epidemic. It embodies how CHINT has actively involved in internationalization, promoted clean energy, and provided smart energy solutions.
